Moms, dads, and loving caregivers of children six an under can benefit from a series of opportunities provided at the Gladstone Center for Children & Families, 18905 Portland Avenue in Gladstone.
Parenting Now is a series of monthly drop-in classes on Thursday evenings from September through June. Free dinner and childcare are always provided. To register, contact Chelsea Hamilton at 503.367.9116.
Beautiful Babies: For parents of children under 12 months old, this class meets First Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. Topics include child development milestones, parenting styles, self-care for parents, sleeping, feeding, and playing with your baby.
Terrific Toddlers: For parents of children age 1, 2, or 3, this class meets Second Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. Topics include toilet training, child safety, positive discipline, learning through play, and encouraging language and social development.
Growing Up: For parents of children age 3 to 6, this class meets Third Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. Topics include school readiness and adjustments, healthy screen time, nutrition, love languages, and positive sibling and peer relationships.

Families facing hard times can visit the new food pantry at Gladstone High to get a food box. The facility is open Thursdays from noon to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon in the portable nearest the GHS greenhouse on the north side of campus. (Easy access via Nelson Lane).
